Usual codes and conventions of crime thrillers:Mainly consists of ransoms, captivities, heists, revenge and kidnap. The focus of these films is usually on the criminal behaviour rather than that of the police or figure of authority. They usually emphasize on action over pschological aspects, this could include chases, sometimes high speed.
